The first mobility AI chatbot

maia (Mobility AI Agent) was developed by the MoveAssist team back in 2015, using the limited AI tools available at that time. At the heart of maia was AIML (AI Markup Language), an early standard for conversational agents (chatbots).

We integrated maia with mai-world (or mai-assignment as it was known back then) so relocating employees could converse with a mobility expert that was available 24/7. maia could also take actions on behalf of the employee, such as updating travel calendars and downloading documents.

maia was critically acclaimed and won the 'Re:Locate' magazine award for 'Technological Innovation in Relocation' in 2016. However, maia was ahead of its time and companies were reluctant to trust 'AI' to assist their employees. With AI now at the forefront of everyones thoughts, maia is back - this time with a team of agents to assist not only relocating employees but all mobility stakeholders.
